Tree on former stud with links to Phar Lap subject of planning dispute

A group of Geelong residents has launched a battle against a planned subdivision in the semi-rural suburb of St Albans Park, which some fear will destroy historical links to Phar Lap and other champion racehorses.

The City of Greater Geelong is calling for public comment on a town planning application to subdivide 7-8 Oakwood Ridge, near where the legendary Phar Lap hid for two nights before the 1930 Melbourne Cup.
